# Tips and shortcuts

> Work faster in the builder.

## The top bar

| Button | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Problems** | Shows **No problems**, or how many problems there are. Press it to see which block to fix. |
| **History** | Undo and redo your changes. |
| **Find a block** | Search the blocks that are already on your board. Great for big commands. |
| **Builder Settings** | Your builder options. See below. |
| **Save** | Saves your work. Your bot uses the new version right away. |

## Quick tips

> **Add blocks faster**
>
> * Press the dashed **+** circle under a block to add the next block already joined.
> * Press the round gold **+** button to pick a block.
> * Type in the search box at the top of the block list, like `role` or `message`.

> **Tidy your board**
>
> Press **Arrange** to line up all your blocks in neat rows.

> **Move around the board**
>
> * **Move the board**: drag an empty part of it.
> * **Zoom**: use the zoom buttons, or scroll with your mouse.
> * **Move a block**: drag it.

> **Find a block in a big command**
>
> Press **Find a block** in the top bar and type its name.

> **Leave notes**
>
> Add a **Note** block to write reminders, like "this part gives the daily coins". Notes do nothing in Discord. Pick a colour and an icon for each note.

> **Make more room**
>
> The close button on the side bar hides the open panel, so the board gets bigger.

> **Jump to any page**
>
> On the dashboard, press `/` on your keyboard, type a page name and press Enter.

## Builder Settings

Press **Builder Settings** in the top bar. A window opens with tabs and a search box, so you can find any option fast. **Reset to defaults** puts everything back the way it was.

| Option | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Auto save** | Saves for you about 2 seconds after your last change. It is off at first. See [Saving and fixing problems](/building-with-blocks/saving-and-fixing-problems). |
| **Warnings** | Choose which warnings the builder shows you. |
| **Replays** | Switch the automatic recording of runs on or off. |
| **Reopen at your last block** | When you open a command again, the builder jumps to the block you were working on. |
| **Share copied blocks between tabs** | Copy blocks in one browser tab and paste them in another, for example from one command into another. |

There are also options for how the helper text looks.

## On a phone

On a phone the builder has a slim top bar with back, help, settings, history, test, problems and save. **Test** opens Replays.

> The builders always stay dark, even if you pick the Light theme, so your blocks are easy to see.
