# Using modules

> Switch on a module and fill in its settings.

A **module** is a ready-made feature. It comes with its own commands and events, already built and tested.

## Switch on a module

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Modules">
    In the sidebar under **Build**, press **Modules**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick one">
    Each module has a picture, a name and a description that tells you what it does. Some are marked **Premium**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Switch it on">
    Press the switch. The module's commands and events are added to your bot.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the settings">
    Many modules have **settings** you fill in, like which channel to use or which role to give. Fill them in and save.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Saved values

Some modules use their own variables (for example coins in an economy module). When you switch the module on, those variables are made on your bot for you. If you already have a variable with the same name, DogeBot never overwrites it.

## Switching off

Switch the module off to stop it. You can also switch off **one** of its events and keep the rest. Your choice stays, even when you save the module's settings again or when the module gets an update.

## Marketplace

The **Marketplace** is where you find more modules and ready-made things made by others. Open it from the sidebar under **Build**.
