# Collaborators

> Invite friends to build your bot with you.

Building is more fun with friends. **Collaborators** are people you invite to help with your bot. Open **Collaborators** under **Account** in the sidebar.

## The roles

Every collaborator has a **role**. The role decides what they can do. Each role can do everything the one above it can, plus a bit more.

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Viewer** | Look at everything, change nothing. |
| **Operator** | Also start, stop and restart the bot, manage servers and look at stored data. |
| **Builder** | Also make, edit and delete commands and events, and manage modules. |
| **Admin** | Also change stored data, messages, integrations and webhooks, timed events, bot settings and profile, and invite people below Admin. |
| **Custom** | You tick exactly the permissions you want. |

You can save up to **10** of your own roles. Give each one a **Role name** and pick a role to **Start from**.

> For WhatsApp numbers, **Read and answer WhatsApp chats** (the Inbox) is part of Operator, Builder and Admin.

## Invite someone

**Share a link**

**1. Pick the role**

Choose what the person can do.

**2. Pick when it expires**

Never, 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days.

**3. Pick the max uses**

How many people can use the link.

**4. Send it**

Copy the link, or copy a ready-made message, and send it to your friend.

You can **regenerate** the link or **turn it off** at any time.

**By Discord ID**

**1. Type their Discord ID**

Type your friend's Discord ID and pick a role.

**2. They answer**

They get the invite in the **bell** with **Accept** and **Decline**.

The invite expires after **7 days**.

## What only the owner can do

To keep your bot safe, only **you** (the owner) can:

* see or change the **bot token**
* **delete** the bot
* handle **billing**, promo codes and turning on a **plan**

**Secrets** are hidden from collaborators too.

## Other things on this page

* **Pending invites**: invites not accepted yet, shown as "n of max". You can have up to 10.
* **Activity log**: who changed what, and when. You can filter it.
* **Bots shared with you**: bots other people invited you to, with **Open** and **Leave**. They also show in your bot picker under **Shared with you**, with your role.

Pending invites count toward this number. Collaborators work under the bot's own plan.
