Sometimes your bot needs something from another website, like the weather, a game score or an order from your shop. A web request asks that website for it.

The web request block

The web request block sends a request to another website or app (an API). You can build the request from scratch, or start from a ready template. Search request in the block list to find it. The answer from the website then flows into the blocks after it.
A web request can only reach normal web addresses (the normal web ports).

Keep your keys secret

Many websites ask for a password called an API key. Never type it straight into a block. Save it as a secret and use the secret in the block instead. The builder’s Secrets panel shows your secrets. See Secrets.
