Spam bots and hacked accounts post in every channel they can see. A honeypot is a channel no real member has a reason to post in, so anyone who does is caught on the spot.
1

Make the channel

Create a channel like #dont-post-here.
2

Pick it

On the Honeypot module page, choose it as the Trap channel and what happens: Ban, Kick or Time out.
3

Protect your staff

Add your staff roles as Safe roles so they can post there without being caught.
4

Save

The bot posts a red warning embed in the channel (“Don’t post in this channel”) so real members know.
Options: delete what they posted, DM them first, and log every catch to a channel.
